Moonroof / sunroof will not close

I had a sunroof leak a couple years ago...got into my car one morning to find water dripping from inside the rear view mirror.

I followed the adjustment instructions in the resources section of this forum, and also lubricated everything I could get at, problem solved. Mirror never fully recovered, as there's still some discoloration, but you have to look real hard.

Then a few months later I shattered the sunroof putting my kayak on the racks in the dark, and again the resources section helped me do the replacement install myself. (To this day I still occasionally come across little cubes of safety glass under the seats and other cracks and crevices, and I know there's quite a bit above the head liner.)

LOL, when my son was little he climbed up on the (then novel to us) sunroof and shattered it. An important lesson in honesty was learned that day, and I also find tiny dark shards of glass ten years later!
The drain along the A-pillar on the driver side clogged on us a few years back, resulting in a small flood. Fortunately, it is not hard to lift the carpet and take out the deep foam, to air it out, and a wire hanger was used to snake out the gunk in the drain. Now all is good as new.
Finally, just did an oil change and new coolant 'burp', and left the ignition on a powered position while cleaning up. Result was dead battery, with '-- --' symbol where clock normally is. Charged battery, drove around the block, all good...except, sun roof will not close. Fuses OK, I hit the forum, and bingo! The 5-start trick did not work, but the fob lock/unlock did.
