About the Volvo Cross Country Resources
Established in August, 2001, volvoXC.com (nee v70xc.com) strives to become the most comprehensive source on Volvo’s all terrain wagon, the Cross Country, or XC70 (nee V70XC). Please note: this is an enthusiast website, and not affiliated with Volvo Cars or any of its subsidiaries in any way! Volvo Cars’ official website is located at VolvoCars.com.
First brought to market in 1997, the Cross Country quickly became a driving force behind Volvo’s wagon sales in North America. In it’s first year, the Cross Country accounted for 45% of Volvo wagon sales.
The year 2001 marks the introduction of the completely redesigned, second generation Volvo Cross Country. And if Volvo maintains their tradition of most car companies, we’ll see just minor changes over the next five to seven years. Present 2001+ Cross Country owners.. cross your fingers!
The Cross Country has brought Volvo a new segment of the market. In a nutshell, people who want the versatility of an SUV but prefer the feel of driving a car. And that’s really the purpose of this website, to provide a community for unique drivers of a unique vehicle, the Volvo Cross Country.
And now with the recent introduction of the Volvo XC90, pending release of a smaller Volvo XC50 and possibly an even smaller XC30 sometime down the road, Volvo has shown they’re committed to the Cross Country marquee, and for good reason as the XC line up has consistently proven to be their number one line up of products!
Presently we offer interactive message boards, extensive photo galleries and press review listings, a news section, and links to other worthwhile sites. In the future we plan on providing in-depth tests of the Cross Country and comparable models, community member reviews, and whatever else we can think of that might add to the Volvo Cross Country experience!
Feel free to contact us at if you have any questions, comments about our website or would like to contribute to the site.
