I recently purchased a 2002 XC 70 with 83 thousand miles on it. At 79245 the tranny was done by Aamco This is what the receipt says:
Aamco's reconditioned Transmission service with an Exhanged REbuilt Torque Converter
1 New banner kit
1 exch rebuilt converter
1 new filter
1 new band
1 pump drain assembly
new fluid
This all came to $ a little of $3000
It has a one year/12K mile warranty, and with 89K miles now on the car, I called to see about extending the warranty as the original owner didn't opt for that. It's $575 a year to extend it which I think is high. Any thoughts on this, should the rebuild take care of the problems associated with these transmissions and hopefully give me normal service from here on out? Seems to work well, although a think a software update may help after reading some posts as it's not always smooth shifting. Thanks
