Except that the Tiguan will have the TDI engine from the get-go available in the US. I've been waiting for a smallish diesel-powered SUV*, since my family outgrew my Jetta TDI.
I'm not upset about the 500-mile highway range of my current '04 XC70, but I do miss the 800-mile highway range of my Jetta TDI. I know the Tiguan won't be getting 50 MPG, but it should make for an efficient wagon/SUV.
Of course, if Volvo would offer me the diesel XC70...
