Default 2001 XC totally uppgraded to 2007.

    Hello good friends!
is it ok to show you all guys in here, my Volvo again?..i was register here some time ago, but i seems to forgot my account.
So i register a new one.(ill tell some admins to erase my old one).
I was Reddiz, for those that do not know me, i did some modifications on my XC.
Anyway, as time goes by, my hunger for modifications started to eat me, and i did just have 1 ambition....to totally remake my XC to the latest model of XC70...so i did!!!!!
As some of you know i modified my engine to an R with 300 HP, and is still running clearly without trouble by the way.
Remember that this car is an 2001 yearmodel, they do not look like this..:-)
Some people think im insane, hey they probably right, no one put so much money in an car, it whould probably be cheaper to buy one brand new..haha!
Here is the result so far, and it is some more to come later this year. it will infact never stop my ambition, the only thing that can stop it is
when Volvo will release a brand new Volvo XCplatform.

    Cool Risen Reddiz !

    Welcome back, Reddiz!

Gee! As you point out, the cost must be astronomical , but the results are outstanding. The engine upgrade alone is an achievement by itself!

The only clue I have as it's not a late model is the presence of the headlight wiper pits on the bumper...

BTW, how many kilometers do you have on the clock with the new engine?

    Thumbs up Absolutely amazing!

Amazing job Reddiz!! Welcome back, this is most likely the best "pimped" 01 XC out there. How does the XC handle the extra HP of the R engine, did you limit the torque in the 1st gear(s)?

    Again, amazing job.

Yes, i have limited torque on first gear, but not so much as i asumed i the beginning.
The Engine is quite nice infact, i dont understand why Volvo dont put more boost in the XC original nowadays, i think they could put more than 250 HP
in the latest models, without malfunktion.
Like put a engine and transmission from R, and then you got your self a monster, who do not want buy a XC like that from dealer?, i whould!
I have driven like this over 2 years now, and all i do is change oil and filter.
Of course i have mounded an external oilcooler for the transmission.
because of the high torque thats goes through the transmission.
it stays about 100-110 degrees celcius.

Yes ther is some stuff on the car that is not updated, like the bumper.
ofcourse it will be replaced later this year..
i got some uppgrades first that need my attention..

Awesome Ride Reddiz!! By far your '01 is the most rad retrofitted version I've seen thus far. Just blows me away!

Can't wait to see what's in store for your next mod.

    Default upgrades

    Very nicely done -

On this front bumper, it certainly looks new - it has the larger, plastic, faux skid plate on it that came out in '05, but it still has the older wiper pits - how did you do that?

Also, where did you get that great little boost gauge? Is that on the windshield piller? Very well integrated.

The Boostgauge installment was one of my favorites in modifications.
Yes it is located in windshield pillar, and it is made in plastic and lots of time and sweat..
the leather is sewed on to the pillar, as seen on pics.

Yes the bumper is an "older" bumper with the new skidplate attached on.
it was not easy to do this, so i dont recommend this.
when i think about it, i cant imagine why i didnt buy a bumper 05- that was made for this...but hey! i did improved my skills a bit :-)

Wow, Reddiz, I'm really amazed! That modified A pillar with the boost gauge looks like an original part. I can't imagine how you fabricated it so perfectly. Very impressive.

How did you accomplish the R engine upgrade? Did you add the high pressure turbo and all the additional/upgraded mechanicals and trim pieces? How did you modify the programming in the ECU to handle the mods? Do you have access to all this technology yourself?

I wish I had your inginuity, connections, AND your apparently endless supply of monetary funds. Your XC is a masterpiece.
