Just read on swedish news that Volvo Car intends to sack 1000 to 1500 employees primarily in Sweden.
It appears that Ford is killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. Volvo is the most profitable brand they've got and sell all cars they can produce at good prices...

It will be a total of 3000 this year, this 1500 is on top of the annual 5% (1500) they want to cull for the next three years.

Or perhaps Volvo is forseeing a slump in sales as it is not unlikely that the oil price per barrel will aproach $100 in the near future. They better start developing more fuel efficient models...
