Default Lava Sand and Interior Color

    Hi,
I'm planning to buy a 2005 XC70 and I am interested in the Lava Sand Color. I was wondering what interior leather color you guys chose? Here in Canada, we have the choice between light sand and brown (I don't thing graphite would fit...). Thanks

Light sand is wonderful, it gives an excellent, premium feeling.
Brown is like sh*t (sorry), especially the plastic parts.
Graphite and black won't fit IMHO.

I have the Taupe leather with the Lave Sand in my 05. I really like it.

    Hi,
The light colored dashboard seems to give more reflections in the windshield than the dark one.

Thanks for your comments. In canada, the colors you can choose from are Light sand, graphite and brown. Is brown the same as the US taupe leather (I'm really bad when it comes to color naming; ever wondered how they are able to find names for 50 shades of blue???)?

I've had countless POSITIVE comments on my "sh*t" brown. Thank you. Brown gets my vote. It's unique and doesn't show the dirt.

dito, especially after I installed the aluminum inlays.

Just pondering, what plastic brown parts were you refering to?

Back to the Q: never seen lavasand in "the flesh" but I think it could work pretty nice with the brown interior, especially since dash and console are all taupe.

As far as reflections of the dash there's probably not much difference between the taupe and light sand dash color.

    Good luck with your decision.

After thought: In winter the brown leather warms up better in the few ours of sun you'll get there up North

Default Lava Sand / Light Sand

Just took delivery of a Lava Sand XC70 with light sand interior (Canada). We like the colour combination very much. The two tone interior is especially sharp with the darker treatment around the outer edge of the door including the door sill.

I made the exact same choice, and it looks great indeed. Never had the slightest problem with reflections of the dashboard in the window.
