I just put a little over 12K miles on it. It was delivered from overseas in mid Sep, and I picked it up early Nov. Mostly all freeway miles, higher this year due to trips up the Pacific coast, 3K miles. Everything has been going well. Just some nickle and dime warranty items.

Purchased in January of 04, and today I have approximately 38,000 Miles
Just got my Black Volvo XC70 in late August and now have 22,000 miles. I averaged about 1,000 miles per week on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. At he end of four year loan it had just over 220,000 miles. The blue book value was negative. Dealerships offered me $2,500.00 for it. Hoping the Volvo handles the miles OK and has more residual value at end of four years. Have concerns about having to replace the turbo???
My Ocean Race (#1/100) is 3 years old at the end of he month. So far 168,000 km.
Now i am trying to replace it with a new '05 and the current one is available and "just warmed up" for the new owner.
It is in the classified list here if anyone is interested.

Welcome aboard XCNomad.
The Turbos are reputed to be rock-solid so I don't think you have to worry. Lots of folks on the board had some misgivings and our service managers give the same response: "Volvo turbos are rarely rebuilt".
Wish my wife would let me drive the Volvo to the same extent you are able to. I manage about 50,000 km (35,000 miles) per year but the 3 year lease has annual limits half that level.
Btw, our Jeep Cherokee has ~230,000 km and has also proven fairly low cost thanks to a 160,000 warranty. Still love that rig but must admit that the residual is ziltch.

Considering that Canadian $ is stronger, and your car is a northern car with about 100K miles, you should entertain lowering the asking price from $26000 to something else. In the South cars with half the mileage of yours and no exposure to winter, sell for about $21K (American). Now, it might be the case that the market for Volvos in Canada is somewhat different than in the States. But in my opinion if you want to unload your car faster, tweeking the price may be the thing to do.Originally Posted by Ocean1

(I know this is getting OT but...) Interesting you should say that - my impression after moving from Canada to the US is that there are a lot more Volvos in the US (at least comparing Montreal, Ottawa and Boston). I ended up with our first Volvo basically since every second used car for sale here in Boston was a Volvo. This could account for lower pricing of used vehicles...Originally Posted by philosophicaldreamer
