Towbar electrics

I have a P2, 2004 (registered 30th June 2004) XC70.
I’m led to believe the Towbar electrics loom from Volvo changed in April 2004. How would I know the build date of my car to know if it was pre April 2004? Is there a simple cosmetic way or is a visit to the dealer?

US and Canada there is a sticker on the drivers door opening, body side, with the VIN and build date. It would be the month and then year of when the car was built (four digit code, first two are the month then a slash with the year). I don't know if the UK is the same.
