Since you didn't mention them, I would suggest you take a look at the A-arm bushes. They seem to go pretty quick on the froze-heave and cracked pavement we seem to have in Canada.

Not sure what you mean by "tight". Overhauling front suspension improves steering, better and safer. Overall ride is far better after the rear suspensions overhauled as well, but never like it was new new. Tires are your first point of contact.

For what it is worth in regard to handling "tightness". On all my P2s, I have used Chrysler Concorde (MY2001 or so) front sway bar end links (https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...371686&jsn=723) instead of the OEM ones. They are the same length, at least 50% bigger in diameter, typically greasable and only require that the hole in the sway bar be enlarged to the next larger drill bit size. In fact, it looks like folks like IPD use these as their "HD" versions. Because of the increase in diameter of the links, the steering quickness improvement is significant. First time I road-tested a P2 so equipped I nearly clipped a curb as the car turned in so much more precisely. These links are usually about the same price as the OEM ones if you buy quality, such MOOG, but can be had for nearly next to nothing for the cheap ones.

    Anyway, just a thought.

    Cheers,

If the struts themselves are still original or old, not installing new ones is probably what you feel

Rears may definitely help too. What are you expecting it to feel like though? It is an XC after all, not an R.
