First post, long time volvo owner
Just purchased the car. The gauge cluster has the grey/silver rings, watch face style, I guess. All the digital displays are fine.
Are the 2 white LEDs at the top of the panel the only illumination of the instruments? There doesn't appear to be any back-lighting.
