    Default Valvoline Transmission Fluid Service

A Volvo dealer in my area offers a Valvoline-branded transmission fluid change service. My understanding is that this involves the use of a dedicated bit of equipment furnished by Valvoline and the use of Valvoline (not Volvo) trans. fluid. Valvoline stands by the service by way of offering some sort of insurance against future transmission problems. The cost of the service is reasonable. The car (2012 XC70T6 with 50K miles) is still under (CPO) warranty.

Anyone have any experience with or thoughts on the Valvoline trans. fluid service? Any reservations?

    Thanks!!

If this service is through the Volvo dealer, it should be fine and warrantied. I would ensure that you have a Volvo work order just like any other service for documentation and warranty. Check whether it is a drain and fill (about 3 qts) or a full flush (requires 8-12 qts).

If you're handy, you can do a flush yourself: http://www.volvoxc.com/forums/showth...ks-on-2008-XCs
