Default Has anyone used this Volvo Autophix ES610 Scanner?

I saw this thread on the XC90 section and was wondering if anyone has used this. Seems specific for Volvo vehicles as well as others. I saw it on ebay for $89.00 US.

It's not clear what that provides over a standard OBD2 reader. Looks like it was someone coming into the forum to advertise / spam their own hardware. Certainly much less useful than a DiCE clone.

    From the product page:
Autophix E-SCAN ES610 can be used on older Volvo vehicles, which do not contain any OBD2 system.which use the VOLVO-specific OBD1 system.it also can work on engine system since 1996 and later OBDII compliant US,European and Asian Vehicles
Thus the 'volvo-specific' aspect means for older cars. There would be no advantage to any generic reader for newer cars, and as mentioned far less useful than DiCE at a similar price.

If you want to spend that much on a reader, just spend a bit more and get a DiCE clone. Even if everything in that list worked as advertised it is barely any more than what a standard OBDII reader could do. In order to do much worthwhile you need VIDA and DiCE.

So, let's make easy, if you want to scan old car, go and get ES630. But Dice is the ultimate choice for volvo. BTW, how much did you pay your dice pro?
