Default Is it appropriate to ask pricing questions and get advice here?

I am a long time member, not a poster and I`m trying to buy a 2012 Xc70 and could some advice.

Ok, the car is a 2012 xc70 black with 8600 miles. It's a dealer demo car and clean.
It has Climate Package (Headlight Washers, Heated Front Seats, Heated Rear Seats, Heated Windshield Washer Nozzles, Interior Air Quality System (IAQS), and Rain Sensor Windshield Wipers), AWD, ABS brakes, Alloy wheels, BLIS Blind Spot Information System, Electronic Stability Control, Electronically Controlled All-Wheel Drive System, Front dual zone A/C, Heated door mirrors, Low tire pressure warning, Power moonroof, Power Retractable Sideview Mirrors, Remote keyless entry, and Traction control and sticker is 44k.

The dealer is asking 35.9 and taking off the 1k for the volvo loyalty trade in. My trade is a 04 xc70 with 167k and change, dealer offered 2800 which is basically autotrader value. Any more dollars to found or is this a solid deal?

Absolutely nothing wrong with asking a question like this - I would suggest that that is one of the main purposes of on-line forums such as this.

Obviously from my location I can't specifically answer your question about whether its a solid deal. It appears fairly good for a low milage 2012 XC70 although the starting sticker price of $44k was probably abit over the top. I'm assuming being a "2012 XC70" it has the Sensus system. You might try posting the same question over at Swedespeed where there's probably a bit more traffic these days.

Hey bud, I think 44k may be a bit on the high side. Im from Mass myself and have a XC70 on the way from Belgium and have been looking at these. I think closer to 42 is better. Is this a T6 Platinum? My recommendation would be to try truecar dot com. Just type in your info with the options and it will provide you with a good price to pay for this, its a good site. If you havent bought it already I would try to get them down a bit as they will make money off this one, its used and you are trading in so there is two of their biggest ticket items on making money...dealers dont make much off new cars. Get the truecar price and go from there, your trade in sounds like a good deal though. Hope this helps!

I'm down to 34.4 on the car, my trade has 167k on it and I'm ok with 2800 for it.

I'm no expert but a 2012 T6 for 34.4K , CPO'd, with only 8600 miles sounds good to me. It all about the mileage.

Last summer, I replaced my 2005 XC with a 2009 XC T6, with 24,500 miles and CPO'd. I like all aspects of thie car with no exceptions.

    Smile Thank you

Picked it up tonight and drove it home for 2 hours in a pretty good snow storm, love it and its a huge upgrade over my 04. Thanks for the advice, I got the deal I wanted and I CPO'd the car as well.

CPO is the BEST thing Volvo can ever give you, my '07 was bought 3 years, 11 months old with 55K miles and had a CPO warranty that went until May 19, 2013 or 100,000mi (my CPO just ran up last month, if you're paying attention) but my point is, Volvo has paid for WELL OVER $8,000 in actual and "just because I have CPO" repairs. There's even some money in there used for just diagnostics labor fees. Over the last 2 years and all that CPO work I'm fairly confident this car will last 100,000mi+ (I'm at 77K now) with only basic fluid changes...since everything else has been repaired and didn't cost me a dime lol

    Shorter point: CPO = tits
