Yes (with a caveat)
Your XC needs to be equipped with Xenon HID headlights with the separate DRL's (round inner light).
I believe that's the way they are programmed from the factory on the OFF position.
DRLs only will be on, but when it gets dark the headlights automatically come on

2000 V70R wife's. Won't sell, now at 148K miles !! and still (almost) perfect.
2000 S70 GLT SE with 29,000 miles!!! A time capsule, V70R front bumper, Volans, etc. SOLD!!! (I Will regret selling this!)
I have an '07 with adaptive HID xenon lights, and DRLs enabled.
I leave the switch in position "0" in daytime, "On" (vertical) position at night.
In position "0" the DRLs (inner lights) are on all the time. The HIDs come on automatically when it gets dark (like when I park in the garage, it gets very cloudy, etc).
Turning the switch to "On" just enables the high beams. The HIDs come on regardless of switch position, but you can't use high beams unless the headlight switch is "on".

With EST HIDs installed and wired via the Xenon wiring in an 05 XC70, any thoughts on what software settings would allow for the HIDs to be turned off via the "O" setting on the headlight switch?
Any thoughts on how to control the power going to the peanot bulb in the OEM halogen lights?
TIA
