Muffler Hanger Repair Part Help

[95SE]

I can easily find the repair kit for the rear, around where the axles are. I cannot source a repair hanger for the end, attaches to the tailpipe. Not the rubber bushing/hanger, but a clamp system. I am told they exist. Any help appreciated.

If you mean the one that clamps over the tailpipe and has hanger rods off to the sides, (the rods rust off) about 12" in total?

Probably made by the same company out of the same materials anyway. Walker used to make OEM exhaust systems and supplied the plant here in Nova Scotia until they closed in the early 2000s. A European plant supplied the European factories from what I was told at the time by a couple of folks that I knew at Walker. Walker also supplied the exact same systems to Midas as replacement systems. These were for the Gen 1s and earlier cars. Not sure who makes the P2 systems but I suspect that the arrangements are similar.

I'm sort of surprised since this is a known part that rusts why they don't paint them before they go in the box.
Volvo is now painting the large center brackets black for GEN 1 AWDs.

Anyhow to the OP, whatever part you buy, paint it before you install it!

Not the one. This one is on the tailpipe, after the muffler. just under the rear bumper. would essentially clamp to the last 6" of exhaust pipe.

This is what you want. Pretty easy to understand what you're looking for; the other clamp has nothing to do with the tailpipe. I actually made this very clamp myself at work one day for about $4. I printed off the picture to scale, and bought a clamp and other needed pieces, heated, bent, and welded as required, and ended up with the exact hanger sans plating. Also, at work, when we see the tailpipe hanger rusted off the pipe, we just mig weld it back on. It takes about 15 minutes. Any muffler shop should be able to do this for you.

I've had this done on all my white block cars at some point. If you get someone who really know how to MIG weld properly, the fix will last longer than the original.
