Originally purchased in 04 as a CPO vehicle with 53k on the clock. currently 114k. Have done all maintenance on time or close to on time (oil changes at 3-4k since we have owned it). Trans flush at 85k. Getting ready to do the brake fluid exchange, coolant exchange and power steering fluid exchange. The PCV system will also be done in the next few weeks. With all that said I can't honestly complain about any aspect of this vehicle, it has been more than reliable, no trans issues, no suspension issues, other than the regular PM stuff, the car has not needed a thing in the 7 or so years we've owned it. Hope this post doesn't jinx it,

98 Chevy K1500 4x 84k

09 Chevy Tahoe PPV
I bought my XC with 231K kms on it nearly four years ago. I love it. No reason to let go of it any time soon. The '07 XC in the garage with less than 50K kms on it is better/smoother/newer/etc but the difference isn't all that huge.
As long as you look after these cars properly they keep going.

Plus money spent keeping it in 'new' condition, or as far as that is possible, is usually cheaper than the depreciation costs of a new car plus its own maintenance expenses.
I hope my XC keeps going strong. At one point I thought I might consider changing it over at 300,000km, but now that I'm so close to that figure, why bother going through the hassles? I like my car and it looks after me, which is very important in a harsh and often remote and dangerous environment like Australia.

Yes, it isn't easy to find proper size for 18" to fit XC70. Mostly because the load.
I may suggest:
For summer:
- 225/55R18 98H, Michelin Primacy MXV4, this is the best fit according OE specification;
- 225/60R18 100H will be more comfortable as the wall is higher, very soon to prove whether this will work.
For winter:
- 235/50R18 97Q for winter, Michelin X-ice. Load is 1 number less (or 20kg/tire less) then the OE 98, and Costco won't put it on as load is lower then OE.
Thanks.
2003 XC70, Blue, 198KKm, FL bearing & DIM replaced, no other major issues yet.
Why in winter you put larger tire ?
Usually in Europe everyone in winter put same or smaller tire.
The diameter of your wheels and 'greater than the original one.
Here for example Nissan Qashqai in origin have tire 215/64 R17 and for optional many people put 215/55 R18 or 225/55 R17.
In Canada you can mount the tires you want without permission Volvo?
Without writing the new measures in the booklet?
For the kind of tire in Europe have other , i mount in winter:

and in summer :

In the size of 215/55 R18 we have only Continental or other orrible chinese tire.
