XC50 when ?

Saw a XC 50 yesterday driving in Providence yesterday. It did have RI plates on it.

See Lee, a XC50 has been spotted in real life which still leads me to believe that there will not be a XC60. But at least it is leaning towards a 50 at the present.

I'm suspecting you may have seen the Land Rover LR2 not the Volvo xc50. The Land Rover LR2 which is being driven around LR dealers in NE at this time so that they may get a look see at the upcoming model.

Best I can tell is that the new XC60 is to be built in Gent, and is on the same platform as you guys know. (Freelander, etc.)

Det står nu helt klart att Volvos nya kompakta suv ska heta XC60. Den blir tekniskt en systerbil till nya Land Rover Freelander och Ford Focus SUV, men liknar till det yttre snarast en förminskad XC90.
XC60 får samma fyrhjulsdrift från Haldex som i Freelander och motorerna blir desamma som i S40/V50.
Den bil som ställs ut i Detroit kommer att kallas koncept, och blir säkerligen lite tuffare än seriebilen, vilken lanseras först ett år senare, som till modellåret 2008.
XC60 blir en genuint svensk bil, men den ska byggas i Gent i Belgien.

Its gone very quiet on this thread. Perhaps Volvo become a little too sensitive with the next gen xc70 getting plastered all over the web.
Detroit in in a few weeks......hopefully they'll roll out of the concept then
