Driver's Side Mirror

Thanks for this thread! Earlier today my son obliterated my driver's side mirror on my 2003 XC70 with a soccer ball. Finding this thread with the part numbers listed was very helpful. I placed an order with IPD for part number 8650152 for $78 USD plus shipping. It wasn't clear to me though if this is just the mirror glass or the mirror glass and plastic frame that the glass sits in. Regardless, I was able to remove the broken glass from the original plastic frame, so I have it -- if I need it with the new glass.

Attaching the glass into the frame and reattaching the frame into the housing looks easy enough, but I guess I will find out when all the parts arrive.

My only concern is the wiring plugs. When my son hit the mirror he must have hit it so hard with the soccer ball that it knocked the plugs from the backside of the glass that they were unplugged when I removed the glass and frame. I am now unsure which plug goes onto which terminal, or if it even matters. Does anyone know? Still...replacing the glass looks to be much easier than replacing the whole mirror housing assembly. Time will tell....

If anybody knows where I can get a deal on a complete used driver's side mirror assembly for my 2005 XC70, please let me know.

My salvage project car's mirror has a bite missing out of both parts of the housing (dark plastic).
