shopping for an XC90

Hello,
I've recently given my daughter the 06 XC70, as she is a new driver and the 70 seems a great first car. I'm in the market for something and I'm tempted to stay with Volvo, as I have a laptop with Vida/Dice.
Looking at the XC90, and I see that the 2.5 stopped in 2006 (I think). Can someone share the ups and downs of the 3.2 and Yamaha V8 XC90's?
I'd prefer to get into something a little newer than a 2006, but at the same time I don't want to invest in something that has many known issues.

Ok, well it seems like this doesn't get the traffic the XC70 forum does.
Leaning towards the V8, around a 2010 model. I've read enough about the trans issues with the 3.2 that I'm not interested in one, and the early V8 countershaft bearing problems. But the later ones seem to have fewer issues, at least from my reading. If anyone knows otherwise please speak up.
