Hello all..I am a new 06 Willow Green XC70 owner also a new 2021 V60CC owner. It started with my wife and I trading the Subaru Forrester in on the V60 CC which we love, btw, then I quickly decided that the V600CC was too nice for the two dogs. I went about looking for another Volvo wagon for taking the dogs to the park etc. I found the 06 on the local CL sitting at 150K, good service records, and a very clean interior. The owners had been working with a local Volvo shop here in Charlotte call The Swedish Connection. Going in eyes opened after a test drive I knew the car needed shocks, struts and had a vibration at speed. I got it for a great price and after replacing the driveshaft, motor mounts, struts, and shocks, brake fluid flush, the car is awesome. I also replaced the wheels and tires. The driveshaft was half off at IPD and the mechanic says it was an original that had been completely refurbished by someone who knew what they were doing. Running 10w-30 Mobil1 high milage for the warm weather that is already upon us. Hours of elbow grease cleaning up the exterior, and working on the original paint, headlights, and trim. Also added a dog barrier, that I found on ebay cheap, but of course, it needed struts too, but that was an easy fix.
I asked the mechanic/owner of The Swedish Connection about a trans flush and PCV system, and he advised against both. On trans he said to wait and see if there are any issues in warmer weather before doing anything to it. On the PCV he just said he really doesn't see a need at this point and in his experience does not see a lot of PCV issues, with 5 CYL. Thoughts?
thanks..
