This sounds like one of those trick questions in grad school, that made everyone want to clam up and not answer. But hey, I was always the loquacious one. I'll bite.
1) Wiper doesn't work.
2) Wiper jerks spasmodically while in motion.
3) Wiper rubber strips in tatters, kind of like Joe Biden's vision of the Constitution.
4) Groaning noise from wiper motor.
5) Groaning noise in trunk area, but from youthful passengers
6) Look in mirror, see gremlin f'ing with wiper, like that classic "Twightlight Zone" episode about the plane crash
7) I can go on and on in this differential diagnosis...
Maybe you tell us what it's doing to speed things up?
OTOH, and I'm not trying to be totally snarky; often these things can be fixed by checking connections, cleaning, and applying some dielectric grease.
Or reading the Constitution.
Lol!! Sorry about that. The wiper stops usually at "full open" position. If I nudge it it goes back. Someone suggested to tighten the nut which I did. It kinda worked after that. Then it did it again and I tightened some more. So far its working again but not too optimistic.
