    Default cabin blower motor

Hello all, 2003 XC70, lately the cabin blower has been erratic, fan is on, then off then on, up and down. Last night driving home blower wouldn't come on at all. this morning it started (up and down, up and down) finally came on and I left it on all the way to work. I figured either I need a new blower or maybe the (rotary) switch. Or could it be the condenser on the blower? Any thoughts from the crowd? Thank You! Dave

The Fan Control Module (4/31), a darlington transister unit (I believe sitting near the fan 6/28) is known to fail.

I ended up replacing blower motors in two P2 cars at about the 12 year, 150,000 mile point.

Get a good quality unit. Behr works well. This one:

    I didn’t replace the transistors

    It's located at the fan.
Of course the rotary switch could fail also, but I haven't read that happening.
