Original poster here, im planning to dig in this weekend, i have ordered a regulator/ Brushes assembly but don't have it yet. Are there other things I should evaluate on this alternator besides the brushes? Dave

Check the clutch (pulley) to make sure it still freewheels one direction -

Brush and voltage regulator assembly did the trick! She's putting out 14.2 volts at idle. Dave
