My son just bought a '16 S60 in So. California. He asked the dealer about an extended warranty (he has CPO for a while). They want more than $4K for 2 extra years. Anyone know of a reputable third party extended warranty program?

This made me think back to the time I bought a new 99 Dodge Durango. They tried in vain to sell me the warranty, telling me that a transmission "could cost $3,500". I still said NO. Just out of warranty the trans started missing shifts, it needed a rebuild. The $3,500 transmission cost me $1,600 to be rebuilt at an independent shop with a great reputation. I think I came out a winner on that deal, the trans job was far less than the extended warranty would have been.
