Why is Squeamish called 1581 Hwy 99?
And Whistler is Nortlands Blvd?

The Squamish should be Starbucks, and the Whistler one Marketplace. Just used those in order to be more specific.. for instance had I just entered the term Squamish it would have directed us to downtown Squamish. Minor differences I know

have yet to decide on a terminus, so the directions are to "Vancouver"... probably right in the center of the city.

A suggestion!

Back in my rallye days we always made a small metal plaque (1"x2" thereabouts) that had a design of the Rallye Masters choosing and the Meet date. I collected these over the years.

On one rallye someone took a pic of my wife and me hammering/skidding/flying around a bend on a dirt road. I had the pic enlarged to a fair size and have stuck all the little metal plaques around the edge as a reminder of all the fun we had on t5hese meets.

Maybe the volvoXC.com Meet plaques could be used in a similar manner

I'd be more than happy to chip a few $s to help out with this.

Just a thought now...

(Can I convince the rally to meet at a "local" coffeeshop other than Starbucks?  I realize Starbucks is easy to find - but there is a nice cafe further "downtown" called Pause Cafe.  Gadzooks, been in Squamish a few months and am singing it's praises  

 Don't get  me wrong, my morning coffee is from Starbucks.)

Oh, I'm so-o-o-o jealous! This looks like such a great event and I can't make it even though I'll be in British Columbia by chance at that time (minus "my Precious" - my XC70 that is - which will be safely ensconced in the garage in Toronto). Our plans are to be in transit between the Queen Charlotte Islands and Pacific Rim National Park about then. It would have been neat to at least go to the starting point to meet some of you face-to-face and to see such a gathering of XC70's! Maybe next year....

For some of us who are already traveling hundreds of miles to get to Vancouver. Can we meet the gang at the start/end of the planned route to join the fun?  Would love to meet all the fellow XC70ers whose advice and support on this website has been invaluable!
