What does the info under the user name mean? One line has XCer, Core Member, etc., and the next has a series of stars. They don't seem to be user selectable so they must mean something, right?

The number of stars and title pertain to your post level.
As your posts increase your stars increase, and your title changes...
1+ posts= New Member (1 star)
10+ posts= Newish Member (2 stars)
20+ posts= Member (3 stars)
30+ posts= Core Member (4 stars)
50+ posts= XCer (5 stars)
There's also the Webmaster title for me
