    Default Looking for reference

New guy here, looking for a reference to work on my 2005 Volvo XC. Is VIDA my only option? Looking for something that would show me how to remove a headlight assembly, change transmission filter, change PCV stuff like that.

If VIDA is my best option, where do I get it?

    Thanks in advance

Look in the Resources tab in the menu at the top of this website for instructions on a lot of common repairs.

There's always the Haynes manual (https://www.amazon.ca/Volvo-V70-S80-...75891264&psc=1). Not the greatest one they have ever done, but for the basics its OK.

    Cheers,

If you own this car, you will need a VIDA/DICE anyway, sooner or later. May as well just go that route, and have everything you need.

Thanks all, I wasn't aware of the resource tab at the top.

It seems like there are a lot of VIDA options to buy from on the web, does anyone have one that they would recommend?

Installation of the software can be a challenge. I went the route of using a virtual machine, VMware:

There's a lot of info available in that link.

The Haynes manual is a lot clearer than bloody VIDA, that basically shows you 3 images and leaves you to figure out what on earth they are referring to. I used the Haynes manual a lot when I first got this car, I still use it - though it's falling apart - mainly for the tables of torque values. Probably should scan those and put them on fridge door in the garage
