Does the blue warning light come on the instrument cluster when you try to switch to the brights?
What bulbs do you have in the low beam position HID or H7?

    Year?

You’re in Canada - so you have DRLs. Which means the low beams are on with the headlight switch OFF (9:00 position).

Sounds silly, but the headlight switch must be ON (12:00 position) for the high beams to work...

Nothing to be embarrassed about, it happened to most of us when we first got the car, drove from Maine to New York cursing my lack of High beams, oops??
