0W30 is an excellent choice. By definition, a 0W30 will be a full synthetic oil.
When I recommend the Mobil 0W40, it's based on several factors, but you shouldn't fear it as being "too heavy", it's actually within about 10% of the 30 weight viscosity specification, so the difference between it and a 0W30 is quite minor. Both my Volvos are running on a 0W30 synthetic right now.
