Man I hate the bad press that my 2001 V70 XC gets, yeah I've done quite a bit of maintenance, but at 200,000 miles I think most cars are headed for the dismantler. People are always amazed when I tell them it's a 14 year old car, it still looks amazing, drives incredible and is the best thing I've bought in years. Newer models may be better but the older ones still rock! (No matter what JBL may say)
Glad your family is okay, I say buy another one, buy up as much as you can afford but remember, the results of your crash could have been tragic in another brand...what's that worth?

My MIL who still owns a car but rarely drives any more has only had Volvos for the last 35 years. My wife has always insisted on Volvos for herself. Me, I'm getting the Volvo thing, but still not there 100%. I suspect I'll be getting her s80 which is 15 years and closing in on 30k old. within a year.
