    Default Pcv oil trap

    This black cover on my engine is leaking oil. Im not sure if the gasket is bad. Shopping around, I found huge difference on pricing.

    Volvo Dealerships = $220 + tax

    Volvopartswharehouse + $136

    Tasca Parts = $143

    Volvopartswebstore = $152

    all of them are saying its an OEM. I'm a bit confused why the big difference. How true is it?

    I was curious if someone has ever cleaned this unit and reinstalled with a new gasket. The gasket only cost $22 as opposed to buying the whole thing

    TASCA Parts is a great supplier of Volvo Genuine parts. I have used non-chlorinated brake cleaner to clean many fuel related parts and, perhaps you could clean this part. I just replaced the whole unit. Before replace the car would make an awful, load, screeching.
