    Default Sunroof shade rattle.

2006- XC70. I removed the glass, attempting to remove the sunshade. There is a metal plate that runs from side to side that covers the rear attachment screws. It's the plate that governs how far the sunshade extends. There is no possible way that I have found to get the sunshade rear screws out from under this metal shield. The shields attachment screws are hidden...ANY HINTS?

Would be interested myself. How did you remove the glass? My shaded is hanging up. The spring guides on the sides are bad and I need to try to replace them, or come up with a fix.

The moonroof glass is held in by 4 torx screws, 2 on each side. To get to them tilt the sunroof up, pull the top rear corner of the plastic accordion covering the screws back carefully (toward the center of the car) to release the accordion from the shiny clips - that exposes the screws

I would recommend to not mess with the shade. i tried to adjust mine slightly and something broke then it preceded to peel off the fabric and get jammed in the accordion. Just happened yesterday to...

    Ouch.
Well mine is jammed half way open. I thought about dripping the headliner, but with airbags and no proper service manual, I don't think it is wise. There are little springs on the sides of the shade with what looks like are or should be Teflon tips. Mine is missing the tip so they have become spring steel anchors. At this point, I may just use needle nose pliers and eliminate them. I'd be surprised if they are a replaceable part anyhow. I'll hit the dealer up for a look at their parts catalog.

How much do the shades cost?

I know three of the screws will be easy in mine but one of mine is aftermarket after I stripped the old one adjusting the sunroof...
