    Default Marker light issue

I have an issue with the drivers side rear marker light. It is the one above the brake light and below the yellow turn signal lamp. It works very intermittently. When this first started I changed the bulb and it worked for a few days. Unfortunately I just assumed the bulb was bad. Usually after shutting the rear hatch is when it will stop working. Twice it has blown the fuse and I have no rear lights at all.
So my question is would the drivers side lights be affected by the wiring in the rear hatch or could it be the part that holds the bulb.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.
Sorry for any typos, sending via I- Phone.

Could be a problem with the socket and/or the lamp assembly. If the socket isn't seating right on its contacts, it will arc at the voltage contact and that will pop a fuse as well. I believe you also lose the license plate lights. Out of curiousity, do you tow a trailer?

As a matter of fact I do on occasion. Is there some relevance to this?

I asked because it may be your trailer lighting or wiring that's causing the issue.
