2001 V70XC 118k miles.
This is our extra car now and probably sees 150 miles a month these days. Running mobil 1 5W-30 and coming up on one year. Probably only 3k miles on this oil so far.
So how often should I change synthetic oil if I'm doing 1500 miles a year?
PCV is recently done and the motor has no sign of any sludge that I know of. Wife uses the car for short school kids pick up trips on Fridays when she needs the 3rd row. I plan to take it for a 60mi highway trip every couple of weeks visiting relatives and give it a good run.
At this mileage rate, I wonder what my repair$/mile looks like even with full DIY. Just did the prop shaft CV, chasing a random coolant leak that I can't find and one of the hood struts just failed

Why don't you drive the XC anymore? And I agree with everyone else just change the oil and filter every year if you are driving that low of miles!

Got an extra car as my father doesn't drive anymore. So we now have 3 cars and 2 drivers. The other two cars are Prius and Corolla and better for daily short commutes to/from work and shuttling the kids around their activities. But I put about 100 miles on the XC this weekend on long highway trips
