Default Other things to do if replacing the Transmission?

    Hi all,
So the slushbox in my V70 XC is getting replaced, and I'd like to know what other things I should ask them to replace as preventative measures "while they're in there". The car has about 145K on it. The timing belt was done around 100K, along with the water pump.

The list I've come up with so far:

    - The 3 subframe-attached engine mounts
    - Transmission mount

They basically have to lower out the entire engine/trans assembly, so there's potentially a lot they can get at while doing the job. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I would replace the four subframe to body mounts as well.

850s have earlier version of this engine and have lots of leaking rear main seals (RMS) due to clogged PCV. RMS is cheap to replace but require the long labor of removing the transmission. Clogged PCV causes positive pressure inside the crank case and will generally cause various seals like RMS and CAM seals to leak.

If PCV haven't been done on the car, it is likely past due at 145k.

So definitely replace the RMS "while they are there" and make sure PCV is unclogged to keep it from leaking.

I don't know anyone who would reuse a $20 seal on a $1000 labor bill changing a transmission
