When I'm driving in "manual" mode, and when I upshift to 3rd, I sometimes get this feeling that it goes into 3rd OK and then into 4th. But then when I do upshift to 4th there is a definate change. Its almost like its 3.5, should I be suspicios?

Transmission is 5-speed and I assume it has a locking torque converter. Don't know what the shift logic is for the torque converter - but lockup can certainly feel like an extra gear shift.
As MacNoob has suggested its the lockup going in. On this 5 speed you only have lockup in 3rd thru 5th with about a 2-300 rpm difference with lockup in or out. in relatively light to moderate throttle application, it does almost feel like a soft "half gear" change.
