Just got home from my Dealer... snow wheels...

Hi everyone...

I went out for a drive today in order to start investigating rims and aggressive snow tires for my 2010 xc70 T6.

My local dealer quoted me $102 Dollars US each for 16" STEEL wheels, and $83 Dollars each for tire pressure monitors.

First, I didn't think I could put Steel wheels on a T6... Am I mistaken???

Second does anyone know how much Volvo oem Rims in a 16" size would cost?

Should I just go to the tire rack and find a set of rims and tires from them and fit them myself???

I did do a search, that's how I found out that I couldn't use STEEL rims... perhaps...

As the 'Emergency Spare' is Steel I am surprised by your comment;

I would be inclined to call or drop Volvo Customer Service a message asking the question. Then you get the answer "from the horses mouth" as we say on this side of the pond.

16's are a standard size for the XC70, so as a wheel size, it's no problem. Not sure if all 16" steel wheels would fit it, but I don't know why you'd bother getting 16" Volvo steel wheels if for the same amount you can get same size or 17" mag wheels for snows. That's what I did, from Tire Rack:

If you don't live where there is constant deep unplowed snow, you are wasting your money.
The AWD system should handle moderate snow falls with no problems. If you really are concerned, then Nokian Wr G2's are the answer for year round driving. Both my XC's wear Nokian's and I bet I get a lot more snow in Wisconsin than in England.-Dick
