you can replace just the bushing on the control arm, but it requires special tools. IPD and FCP, as well as your dealer, carry the bushings. But the bushing require special tools to press them in. Only source of those tools that I've seen is the dealer, and mine wanted about $35 for each bushing pressed in...so, by the time you buy the front and rear bushings and pay that labor, new control arms could be cheaper.

I would get the alignment re-done after replacement of any front end component, including bushings.

If you decide to replace the control arms, I would consider replacing the balljoints at the same time. They're not expensive, and you have to disconnect them to get the control arm out. Further, be careful if you loosen the bolts that hold the strut to the spindle - those affect the camber, and you will need an alignment after that (and many shops don't even know that the camber is adjustable...)...

Installed Pioneer A-Series 6.5in 350W speakers. Immense improvement in separation between bass, treble, and midtones. Also considerable improvement in reproduction of certain instruments, especially electric guitars with heavy distortion which now sound like electric guitars with heavy distortion instead of just noise. I can now also hear clearly things like muted string percussion which were completely lost with the stock Volvo speakers. Lastly, bass is much improved, enough so that I could easily tell that I hadn't tightened one of the torx screws enough even though it turned out there was only about a 1/4 of a turn left before it locked. It's not a substitute for a sub woofer, but it's still pretty decent.

I think the PA-300 amp is next now that I have speakers that can support it.

I really want to redo the speakers, the stock HU-650 system is major suckage. How much did all this cost? If you don't mind me asking.

I purchased a new sunroof side plastic / accordion / fan piece for the one that split last week. $46 from dealer.

Looks like I just found some installation instructions:

    Default New front end links

Ahhh, no more subtle clunks. Links did not even look or feel bad in hand, but noisy on car.

Speakers: $49.28 / Pair from Amazon
T25 Screwdriver: $3.50 from local hardware store
    Weatherstrip Tools: $15.00 from Amazon

So total was about $100 for speakers and $20 for new tools. The big tool with the handle made it REALLY easy to pop the clips on the door panel out once I stopped being afraid to put some muscle into it. 300W Amp is about $90-$100 on ebay from Eerie Vovo.

That's not bad at all for something that can generate bass and creates distinguishable notes. Probably should've looked at doing the tweeters up front and those things in the back at the same time :P I don't think they sell those 2.5's that're way in the back though.

Pics? That was my other choice to the Geolanders that I have on now. I'm curious how they look on the car.
