Default More info on the XC60

I notice the Volvo International website has some more info on the XC60. While granted it looks good, based on some of the performance and fuel efficiency data recently released by Audi on their new Q5, Volvo are going to have a problem with this XC60.

Exactly my thoughts, wen I saw the specs for the new Audi Q5. From a technology perspective, the Q5 will be miles ahead of the XC60. This translates directly into much better mileage at equal or even better performance.

for me, volvo wins in the exterior and interior looks, as well as the auto-braking thingy.. But i'd rather the driver behind me be equipped with it...

Default XC60 - Great Design - Questionable Engine

I also think Volvo may have a problem in todays market with the XC60 - Particularly still using the old D5 engine.

I notice the performance figures on the D5 Auto (185ps) (Combined 34.0 mpg) are virtual no different to the equiverlent XC90 (Combined 33.2 mpg).

What's more is that the XC60 D5 Auto (163ps) version's performance figures are exactly the same as the 185ps version, which in the UK you are paying £1000 more for. Only the torque differs 340nm to 400mn respectively.

Does this not show that despite the 200kg less weight on the XC60 to the XC90 that there is not much more they can do with the old D5 so it competes with the likes of the Audi Q5.

Volvo need a new engine and fast. Maybe use Ford's 2.2 diesel as in the new Kuga.
