Default Are 2003 and later ETMs failing?

Hi, I'm back again. Things have slowed down to about 1 ETM email per day from guys and gals that have found http://vexedvolvo.org.

    There are two complaints.

The first is that, after getting the software upgrade, the car may hesitate and surge but without a code being set Volvo will not fix the problem. I have not heard of a 'limp home' failure in months.

The other is that later models, that do not have the Magneti Marelli ETM, but do have a potentiometer throttle position sensor are beginning to see driveability problems, with a quoted replacement price of $800.

What is the news out there about later throttle problems.
