What if the 01 Ecu gets programmed for that engine? Im trying to find the cheapest option here.

The 01 motor came out of a 01 v70 xc, I just bought a 01 ecu out of a 01 v70 xc to try it out...the Original 02 motor had a big crack on the block cylinder 3, I still have in the garage the 02 motor....

I thought the engine been out of a 01 v70xc it wouldve still worked out, So if I change the ecu for a 01 its supposed to work, nothing else has been changed..only engine that came with the harness...
