What year XC do you own, and do you know why your original one failed?
Crikey, it really is a simple question. Have you broken a coil spring or not?
I'd hate to live like you seem to, are you going to replace your transmission because it might fail as well? ****, I...
Looking forward from the rear of the car, the wiper should be on the right.
If you have a LHD car, this will be the passenger side.
Yes.
Each coil has one bolt that holds it in place. Remove the bolt, and pull the coil up.
My normal commute is less than 10 miles, each way. I do allow the time for the car to warm up. The commute is not in stop and go traffic.
Almost every weekend my wife drives to a neighboring...
I have an '04 XC70 with 61.5K miles on it. I do regular oil changes about every 6K miles, and I use dino oil. My oil cap looks like the top picture. There is no sludge.

The typical shade tree, and most independent, mechanics do not have the equipment that is required to reset the transmission adaptors. Honestly, I don't think there is a need to reset the adaptors...
My '31 Ford has baffles in the oil filler tube. They're there to prevent liquid oil from being discharged from the oil tube, and still let the crankcase vent.
Have you done a compression test on the motor?
But you are not purchasing a certified pre-owned car from a dealership. You're purchasing a used car from a leasing company.
Listen to JRL.
Do you think that car is worth $25K?
Where is the car? Are those Canadian dollars?
That price seems awfully high to me.
Yes.
Why? Why do you disconnect the battery?
How many miles are on the tires? How old are they?
There is a fitting on the fuel rail that looks very much like the valve on a bicycle tire.
Using a fuel pressure gauge like this one, you can depressurize the fuel system.
What year is the used V70? What is the mileage? What will the dealership offer for a warranty?
If it were me, and I wasn't getting a multi-year warranty, I'd run away. As fast and as far as I...
No, the camshafts turn at half the rate of the crankshaft.
The absence of any noises makes me thing it isn't a CV joint.
The absence of any codes, and the condition of spark plugs as you have described makes me discount any ignition problems.
Have you...
If the plugs all look good, that would tend to discount an ignition problem.
Is there any noise associated with the vibration? Have you checked all the motor mounts?
What made you decide the problem was with the pump?
What was the code being thrown?
I don't mind the interior, but the exterior is butt ugly. That contrasting piece of crap that surrounds the front fog lamps is plain nasty.
Thanks, but I'll pass.
Have you checked the brake fluid level?
