If it slips going into third gear - isn't this a symptom of a loose third gear band caused by someone removing the bolt from the top of the trans that so temptingly looks like a plug you can remove...
At least that's progress!
Can confirm, not necessary to remove the crank pulley if you take off the small belt guide - but there is only one way to work the belt out and back in - I did practice with the old belt first.
That sealing ring may have fallen out in pieces when you took it apart, so it may not look familiar to you...
Ooh that looks terribly familiar. $7k damage to my old Saab 9-5 just like that.
Park assist - I had a sensor (seems it's always the third one from the left) die and throw an error message.
Get the error codes read with Volvo VIDA and it will have more detail on why the codes...
flat 6 sedan? Like a Corvair 4-dr? I can help you with those.
Nice one. I have a 2007 as well.
5. Review ALL the steering and suspension components. I replaced the struts (and hardware), lower control arms, outer tie rod ends, sway bar and end links. Huge...
Guess who's back! I have the pump in my hands. Dripping from the weep hole and draining my windshield washer fluid. Time for pump #4! Car now at 205,000 km. The one here in my hands lasted 5 years,...
Have you tried resetting the seat memory? Adjust it to where you want then press M and the memory number button at the same time.
There's no accessible filter normally. Some people add a Magnefine filter in the line to the transmission cooler.
Waaaaait a minute here. Are we talking about the bolt at the end of the axle? And can you describe what 'axle ping' sounds like? I just may be having this problem....
Monroe struts price premium: I bet they are the 4C adjustable shocks (made by Monroe, and yes super expensive) rather than the standard Sachs-made items.
The Monroe's aren't "better", they are...
Yes, this. The brake booster vacuum pump (under the airbox) is quite loud. The switch is in front of the airbox and has a wire harness and vacuum hoses connected to it.
I just went ahead and ordered a new bar with attached bushings from the local dealer.
Original one lasted nearly 200k, not sure I'll still be driving this car at 400.
Looks like I'm up against this job at 200k kms/2007 XC70. RHS bushing is completely disconnected from bar and bar rattles around.
Any updates on this process or parts needed? Still Energy 9.5115?...
Huh. I have a 2007. It's been through several sets of tires on 2 different sets of wheels... never had anyone mention a tire pressure sensor. Is TPMS an option or maybe a USA-car thing?
edit:...
If you had a flashing check-engine light, there are likely stored codes that could be read with the DICE diagnostic tool that may help uncover the problem.
I'd consider a load test on the battery. Leaving it a few weeks without starting could have drained the battery down too far and it's a little weak. Many auto parts places will do a load test for...
I haven't looked at the block diagram for ACC, but I know that the driver's side power seat module was replaced on mine to correct an issue with ACC. Makes sense to me that for dual zone to work,...
The power seat module also contains the temperature sensor for the A/C. I believe it's located under the seat. It may have a poor connection due to corrosion/age. I did have to have one replaced on...
That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

I was looking for something I saw...
Nobody is doing overseas delivery these days? Would be a great experience to replace my XC70.
Ah, could not pick that out in the photos.
A similar treatment to dealing with yellowing would probably work - a series of progressively finer wet sandpaper up to 1500 or 2000, followed by polish...
