Volvoholic, the sound is very similar to the first video, but just a bit less loud. I will aim to take a few videos when I get a chance. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take any pictures prior to...
You could also put in non awd wheel bearings into the rear end. Not sure if they would fit 100%, but that is an idea. Look at Erie Vovo or other used parts dealer if you want a VC. Good luck!
For those of you are thinking about getting the OBX Exhaust for the XC70, here are a few thoughts.
1) The unit is lighter than the OEM exhaust.
2) It comes in three sections, and you have all the...
I definitely need to lower my 01 after the Peg upgrade. Just too much space between the tires and trim. Looks great!
I have decided to do some long neglected upgrades to my 01 Java. The first is upgrading the tires, got a good deal on a set of 17" OEM Pegasus rims...

I also decided to do a quick detail;...
I have a set of 17" Pegasus wheels and an OBX cat back exhaust to install this weekend. Next up is an ECU tune, and maybe some suspension upgrades. I pretty much have replaced almost all the parts...
Thanks! I will give those a try and maybe non quick wax and see how much better the wagon looks. :D
This was mostly an experiment to see if the Meg Ultimate Compound worked, and the Meguiars Quick wax is the same stuff as their liquid wax. I have done the clay bar before so it was mostly the hood...
Just got done doing my first real detail. Wash followed by clay bar; then ultimate compound on hood to remove some scratches. Finished up with Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax. Need to get something to...
I just wanted to report back that this simple brake upgrade works!
Here are the steps required to do this:
1) Pick up a 12" rotor from any reputable source that fits your model year; in my...
Bill,
Thanks for the reply, i will search and see if i cant find those for a reasonable price. So far the cheapest place for caliper retainer has been around 16 a piece. I will keep all posted...
I have just picked up a set of 12" rotors for my 01, does anyone know the caliper bracket required to make this work? I am doing a brake swap out, and want to do a little upgrade for my new DD. I...
My 01 eats through tire also! Another set of 80K michelins and I'm at 25K almost ready to replace.
i just did the lc arm a few weeks ago; i would definitely use a strap or other method to pull down arms once installed to put everything back together. Good luck!
FWIW I have been using the Autolite Double Platinum plugs for about a year now with no significant problems. Before that I ran OEM plugs and I can't really tell any difference. Good luck with the...
Your best bet is to get the most up-to-date software for the transmission from the volvo dealer. Also, how old is the battery in the car? A dying battery can lead to some weird electrical issues in...
Thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the help, if I have the time, I will post a write-up on how to install after I get it in. :D
I would also recommend the $35 dollar rubber set from iPd. I have been running all winter and have been impressed with fit and finish. [thumbup]
After running FWD for what seems like forever I have finally got the extra cash to fix the bad driveshaft on my 01. I took the old driveshaft out, but I can't seem to find a write-up on how to...
Sounds like it could be a bad wheel bearing. Those tend to rumble and makes sounds similar to that. Try turning at speed (45mph or so) and see it is more pronounced when making a turn either...
I would second that also; I have had this in the XC for about one month. From what I have read it is the same stuff as their regular seafoam, but it seems to have made an improvement in that shifts...
Wish I would have had instructions on how to do this before I spent a whole day a couple months ago replacing the rear. I second the opinion that the rears are harder than the front; it was...
When was the last time you replaced or had the PCV system replaced? PCV is what I would suspect also, might be time to order a kit and do this ASAP. Definitely a buildup of pressure in the...
I never said RP needed an additive; I simply said use something that has been proven to reduce wear like MoS2 and others that have boron in them. There may be other additives that show reduced wear...
