I had a significant buzz on the driver's side (RHS for us here) which was resolved by pushing/sliding the entire window control panel forward. In a friend's car, he had to push the panel backwards. ...
You're right, there's a microphone behind the perforations if the car is equipped with GSM phone. The speaker is then in the driver's similarly perforated headrest.
I stupidly went over a road hump at too high a speed today and bottomed out. The car hit the hump quite hard with a loud thud (the cabin reverberated) somewhere between the front & rear...
I made my dealer check last Friday and the factory recommended price is about US$1,400!
That's a ridiculous amount to pay. If anyone has received a different price quote, please post.
Your dealer can do it via VADIS. Should be FOC too if your country should be on that system (imperial or metric).
Thanks! And it costs less than US$10 to get it done. Just some vinyl sheet from Spotlight and a couple of rolls of duct-tape for holding the back down. Ought to have used cobbler's glue but I didn't...
I often leave the tailgate open overnight to air the cabin (while parked in the garage) and I've never experienced a drained battery. I think it should be fine doing so.
It took me almost 4 hrs but I did it! I removed the rear panel, placed/stuffed a nice piece of black vinyl over the carpeted upholstery, tightened it at the back with industrial strength double-sided...
Thanks Willy.
I think that's about covered it... unless you have advice on how to *stuff* the vinyl between the carpet upholstery and the plastic frame - this is for the trunk's inner panel. The...
Just visited the dealer. Removing the rear panel's easy too. Remove the four torx screws and pop the panel straight out. There're 8 pop-in fasteners - 4 on the top 1/3 portion and 4 on the bottom...
Wow! Thanks! The pdf is so professional looking... did you put it together yourself? I'm going to take the panel off tonight.:)
Hope I'm not pushing it here but... I was also trying to remove...
So, does anyone know how to remove the vent panels? Or shall I just *pop* it off?
The part numbers in our catalogue here are:
V70 00- 8641 722
XC 01-
2-part rear seat 8641 722
3-part rear seat 8685 516
I paid the same price as you did.
Thanks everyone for your reply. There's only one dealership here in Singapore... and they said to drill.
Sticking the velcro onto the carpet was the first thing I tried. It used to work on my...
I bought the full wall-to-wall vinyl cargo liner for the cargo area since my dogs are gonna be riding back there all the time.
The instructions for the cargo liner said to drill 5mm holes to...
I finally got round to installing the protector. The instructions said to use 30% wiper wash and 70% water mixture to prep the plastic bumper. I'd neglected to see if the box contained instructions...
Thanks, birddog. I wonder if windex contains amonia and if it'll affect the bumper too. I'll try over the weekend.
Yeah, I'll gladly take some pics and post them. Gotta figure out how to post...
My wife and I are finally the proud new owners of a MY05 Ash Gold XC70! We collected it on Monday. It drives like a dream. And our two Labradors are quite happy at the back - with windows all around...
There's a V70XC (or XC70) in the new movie "Hide & Seek" starring Robert de Niro and Dakota Fanning. I think de Niro's character drives it.
You can find some info here: http://apps.volvocars.us/ownersdocs/2004/2004_XC70/04xc70_01a.htm#pg3
Seems like its a page out of the owner's manual.
Hope it helps. :D
Hi all,
I'll be getting my MY05 in Dec 2004 here in Singapore and have been reading all the back issues of threads to get an idea what to do and what not to... and what to expect. Its been very...
