I also cut a access door and it was much easier than dropping the whole tank. I was grateful to go that way because I had to access 4 time (3 first time to try to stop a leak when tank is full and...
Now that I bought a brand new VUS last march and handing the keys to a new owner today, it's time for me to say a big thank you for all the help I got here during my ownership of the 2000 V70 XC SE....
I will have to agree with nortons. It's very hard to find one which is very very well maintained and I did the mistake of buying one (2000 V70 XC SE) with a few issues thinking those are very easy to...
I also suspect some body flexing so it could get very expensive. Wouldn't be surprised if it get totaled.
That's a 2007 ? I love it and I also was looking for a white one.
Right now, I'm eyeing a 2007 XC70 with only 57,000 miles in silver with black interior and brushed aluminium accents, exactly what...
It doesn't cost a dime to ask if they would do a comb-over of the car before warranty expire and fix issues under warranty. I'm sure they will agree for a nominal fee.
I asked the Toyota dealer to...
That's what a dealer quoted for some guy. Quoted total was 2300-2600$ for both front shocks including calibration (remember we are in Canuckistan, not USA).
No need to say he refused to take it...
I guess there is a short somewhere.
Nice pics... I'll try to get some from the Quebec Auto Show starting tomorrow.
The biggest thing to avoid is 4C suspension. A single shock cost over 320$ USD each from Tasca and over 1000$ from the dealer. The rest is ok and 2007 is a very mature year with not much trouble.

Great info, keep them coming... I have my eye set on a 07 silver XC70 without the dreaded 4C (a rarity around here, most have 4C) with 91,000 km (only 57,000 miles). I would put 55 tires on 17"...
Well, it happen that I'm now in the same predicament... My GF and my parents is trying to push me to buy a more recent XC70 to reduce the risk of having issues. That push me in the 2007-2008 range......
Congratulations for the nice white XC70. You're lucky to find one in white because I'm trying to find that color without luck yet.
I enjoyed reading thru all the blog and happy to see both of you two and Red Flamenco coming back safely.
A note : it's better to say 8.17L/100KM as the metric guys like to say. This is a great...
On the other hand, if you don't want to deal with future AWD issues, pick the T5. I like both as well but for my purpose, I'd pick the XC and chip the hell out of it to get at least T5 performance...
In short, at this mileage, suspension parts are likely worn out so check them.
Rattles is often caused by bad endlinks, check them...
Just to put things in perspective, a Yaris key with remote (included in the head of the key) cost 485$ + tax... A dodge key/remote cost about 250$ each. I paid 507$ for 2 new keys, a new FOB...
JRL or anyone, do you have the # for the R exhaust system since I was unable to find them in volvo parts webstore pertaining to the R ?? I will have a 2005-2006 XC70 soon and I would like to pick the...
Mine doesn't lock up automatically so your best bet is to go to the dealer or if you have vida/dice, there might be a option to disable this feature.
I think a bad coil cause misfires, thus letting unburned fuel thru the cat. When you let this happen for long, it will kit the cat and cause rotten eggs smell.
My reasoning is that the first year of a model will always have a few issues, fixed in subsequent years. But with a warranty, I do agree it's ok to get a 2008.
I guess in a tan/chocolate interior, the cover would be in tan ?
Could you find a 2009 XC70 ? I think this one is much better than the 2008.
If you cannot find, getting a 2007 would be a more sensible choice since you could get it for much cheaper then spend a...
A manly thing would be not to drop anything in the puddle, thus not needing light ;)
