    Hello,
I think I might want to remove the designation "Cross Country" on the rear of the car, possibly replace with the volvoXC.com sticker. Since I don't have the car yet, I don't know if it is possible. So I want to ask if it is painted or a removable sticker.
    Thanks,
    Willy

I'm not sure but it should be possible.
I can feel the letter stickers under my fingers, so you should be able to remove without any damage to the paint.
    But .. sure about that?
I like it a lot, and I would prefer to add the XC.com sticker, more than replacing the other one!

By the way I shoud order it....

It is a sticker - you can remove it and I think one or two members may have done that. It is possible (at least in Europe) to order the car without the badging on the back so perhaps you can order it without the "Cross Country" label across the back as well.

    Hello Wiz,
Indeed, I could order the car without badges. However, I think it can be useful that it can be seen that the car is awd, I know some of these systems get damaged if they are dragged away (2 wheels on the ground, 2 wheels up).

Here's a pic of Kevin's black XC showing his successful removal of the 'Cross Country' logo. I believe he used a hair dryer.

    Hello Art,
I like the look of Kevin's car. I have never removed stickers before, I assume the hairdryer must make the glue somewhat "liquid"?
    Thanks for the picture,
    Willy

Willy if you do a search at Autopia you will find fairly detailed instructions on how to remove stickers and badging.

Why is badging removal an option in Europe? I have seen BMW's and Mercedes without badges and I know that Porsche has a removal option of the front hood crest and rear badging. Is it because of theft? I found this out when I went to purchase a C4 Carrera(a vehicle that other than North America, the whole world can purchase) and was told it was not available and that I would have to purchase the Cayenne, another SUV piece of junk. BTW the C4S is lower, harder sprung and not suitable for snow and ice which is how I was going to use the C4 and I don't want a C4 convertable. -Dick

It is considered to be cool looking plus it makes model ID more difficult if you are travelling at 200kph on the autobahn...
