Default Replaced power steering pump and now feels worse, what gives?

I have an 04 XC70, the power steering was making noises so I bought an aftermarket replacement from IPD USA.
I replace it this weekend and now the noises are gone, but when the car is no moving it feels like there is no power steering system.
Once the car is moving is not an issue, but prking has been hard even though I have been working out my arms.

I am ready to take it apart again and reinstall it, but I am wondering what I should look for while I re install it, did I miss something??? Bleeding out the air?

    Thanks.

PS pump install is pretty simple. How is fluid level? and sounds like you didn't bleed?

To bleed, just turn wheel end to end like 10-20x and hold a few seconds on each end with engine running. I do this with front end jacked up to avoid tire wear in the same spot.

I tried it bleeding it with the wheel on the ground. Should I do this with the wheels off the ground? Also, do I need to take the cap off while I am doing this to let the air go out?

Here is the funny thing, when starting cold, the steering is fine, but I think when it wrams up and park it, it does become stiff getting out of parking spaces.

Bleeding on the ground is fine, putting them up in air just easier to do many cycles. Cap on is fine. Air will head towards the high point and pressure will be released when you open the cap.

If the fluid level is good, it should just work regardless of temperature if the pump is good. Did you have power steering assist in parking maneuvers before the pump change? Previous pump worked fine other than noisy?

Sounds like maybe you got a bad pump. Hot PS fluid is thinner viscosity and parking maneuvers means lower RPM (engine at idle). PS pump itself is the only component in the PS system that might be affected by these changed conditions.
