my car was leaking in Dec 10 and repaired under warranty, less then 1200 miles later, earlier this month (out of warranty) it was leaking again. Volvo fixed it under their parts and labor warranty...

Well, the rear differential is leaking and dripping on the exhaust...making the smell.

Since the dealer just fixed it (supposedly) in December, it's going back next week. I just don't get is it...

Funny you say that, the mechanic (very good friend of mine) asked me the same thing. I could not find one but I was only laying under the car. Should be easier to spot on a lift.

I've seen no strange wear of the tires. I am getting it on a list on Friday, so I will hopefully find something.

I thought the trans should never be flushed unless there is a problem? my understanding is that it's a closed system and should stay that way (unless an issue arises).

I replaced mine on my 03. I'm 6-2 and it's tight with larger hands but it can be done easily. Consult the owners manual as it provides easy to follow instructions.

get the tires rebalanced and have them speed balance them. somethimes when they are balanced normally (without speed balanceing them) you'll get this as they are out of balance at higher speeds

What should I expect in this service? Seems like a lot of BS and "checking fluids" from the manual.

the first one, i would fill up and I could see it drain to the ground. the one in there now, I see the crack and if I fill it past that point, it leaks.

installation I would assume was done right but the dealer did it...and that might tell you something
